Harold Gamarro
Harold Gamarro is a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley working with Professor Tina Chow. He earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the City College of New York. His research uses high-resolution atmospheric modeling to study urban weather, air quality, and boundary-layer processes, with applications to energy demand and renewable energy forecasting.
Rebecca Sugrue
Rebecca Sugrue is a postdoctoral scholar conducting novel research on the impacts of air pollution and climate-related hazards on respiratory health. In collaboration with Profs Tina Chow (UCB) and Neeta Thakur (UCSF), Dr. Sugrue seeks to illuminate the inequity of respiratory health impacts of air quality degradation due to increasing wildfire smoke events, with a special focus on environmental justice communities. She received her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the UC Berkeley and is currently funded under a K99/R00 grant from NIH NIEHS exploring the effectiveness of local decision-making and climate resilience planning on mitigating negative health impacts of climate events.
